Our Nurse Navigator team can provide education about your condition and your prescribed medication. Your Nurse Navigator can explain how it works, what to expect, and answer questions you might have.

Please let our team know if you would prefer to connect with a Spanish-speaking Nurse Navigator.

Keep in mind: Your doctor is the best source of information for questions about your health.

Insurance, coverage, and financial assistance

You might have questions when it comes to the cost and insurance coverage of Rezdiffra. Prescription medications have a list price. However, very few patients pay the list price. Instead, it’s typical to share costs of medication with your insurance plan.

The cost of Rezdiffra depends on your insurance coverage and eligibility for support programs. If you have commercial insurance and qualify for the Rezdiffra Copay Savings Program, you may pay as little as $0 a month*. Additional financial assistance options may be available for patients with limited or no insurance, if eligible.

Madrigal Patient Support can help you manage the insurance process. They can identify financial assistance options, help you understand costs and coverage, and provide support getting started and throughout treatment. You can learn more about financial assistance programs or contact Madrigal Patient Support at 1-877-219-7770, Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 8 PM ET.

*Eligibility rules apply. Offer not valid for patients enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid, or other federal or state healthcare programs. For program terms, conditions, and eligibility criteria, visit copay.rezdiffra.com link-icon

Your specialty pharmacy or Madrigal Patient Support will confirm your insurance coverage. Your specialty pharmacy and your Madrigal Patient Support Case Manager will explain any out-of-pocket costs.

Madrigal Patient Support is here to help you navigate financial challenges and access your prescribed medicine. We’ll work with you to explore options based on your insurance and eligibility. To find out what support may be available to you, call Madrigal Patient Support at 1-877-219-7770, Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 8 PM ET.

If your prescription insurance changes, call your specialty pharmacy or your Madrigal Patient Support Case Manager. They can help you check your coverage and see if you qualify for financial help through Madrigal Patient Support.

If you have no insurance, or have trouble affording Rezdiffra, Madrigal Patient Support may be able to help. You can learn more about financial assistance programs or contact Madrigal Patient Support at 1-877-219-7770, Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 8 PM ET.

Your Madrigal Patient Support Case Manager will identify and inform you of potential financial assistance options that may be available to you.

Medication, treatment, and specialty pharmacy support

Learning about your treatment

Our Nurse Navigator team provides education about your condition and your prescribed medicine. Your Nurse Navigator can explain how it works, what to expect, and answer any questions you might have.

Keep in mind: Your doctor is the best source of information for questions about your health.

The Rezdiffra® (resmetirom) Patient Welcome Kit is sent to patients who are new to Rezdiffra.   It includes a variety of educational materials and helpful resources to support you throughout your treatment journey. You’ll find a water bottle, a treatment journal, and more. Patients prescribed Rezdiffra will receive the Welcome Kit along with their first prescription from a specialty pharmacy and/or Madrigal Patient Support.

Getting your treatment

If you’ve been prescribed Rezdiffra® (resmetirom) by your doctor, your prescription will be delivered directly to your doorstep through a specialty pharmacy. The specialty pharmacy or Madrigal Patient Support will call you to review your prescription, confirm your insurance, and discuss financial assistance options. Once everything is verified, your medication is shipped straight to you.

You’ll get a call from your specialty pharmacy or Madrigal Patient Support to schedule your delivery. Be sure to answer the call to avoid delays.

For your first prescription, you can expect to receive your medication within 30-45 days.

A specialty pharmacy is different from your local retail pharmacy. Medicines from a specialty pharmacy are not picked up in person. Once your insurance coverage is approved, the specialty pharmacy will call you to arrange delivery to your home address.

About specialty pharmacies

A specialty pharmacy stocks medications and treatments that are not typically found at your local retail pharmacy. They provide medications that typically require special handling or are for chronic or complex conditions. Specialty pharmacies are intended to be easy and convenient for you to work with, and they ship your medication directly to you.

There is a limited network of specialty pharmacies that fulfill Rezdiffra® (resmetirom) prescriptions. Your insurance provider may determine which specialty pharmacy can fill your prescription. You can contact your doctor’s office to find out which specialty pharmacy is filling your prescription.

Your Case Manager can help you understand the specialty pharmacy process and what next steps to expect. You can call Madrigal Patient Support or your specialty pharmacy with any questions.

Indication and Important Safety Information

What is Rezdiffra?

Rezdiffra is a prescribed medicine used along with diet and exercise to treat adults with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) with moderate to advanced liver scarring (fibrosis), but not with cirrhosis of the liver.

This indication is approved based on improvement of MASH and liver scarring (fibrosis). There are ongoing studies to confirm the clinical benefit of Rezdiffra.

Before you take Rezdiffra, tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you:

  • have any liver problems other than MASH.
  • have gallbladder problems or have been told you have gallbladder problems, including gallstones
  • are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if Rezdiffra will harm your unborn baby.
    • A pregnancy safety study for women who take Rezdiffra during pregnancy collects information about the
health of you and your baby. You or your healthcare provider can report your pregnancy by visiting https://pregnancyregistry.madrigalpharma.com or calling 1-800-905-0324.
  • are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if Rezdiffra passes into your breast milk. Talk to your healthcare provider about the best way to feed your baby if you take Rezdiffra.

Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

  • Rezdiffra and other medicines may affect each other, causing side effects. Rezdiffra may affect the way other medicines work, and other medicines may affect how Rezdiffra works.
  • Especially tell your healthcare provider if you take medicines that contain gemfibrozil to help lower your triglycerides because Rezdiffra is not recommended in patients taking these medicines.
  • Tell your healthcare provider if you are taking medicines such as clopidogrel to thin your blood or statin medicines to help lower your cholesterol.
  • Know the medicines you take. Keep a list of them to show your healthcare provider and pharmacist when you get a new medicine.

What are the possible side effects of Rezdiffra?

Rezdiffra may cause serious side effects, including:

  • liver injury (hepatotoxicity). Stop taking Rezdiffra and call your healthcare provider right away if you develop the following signs or symptoms of hepatotoxicity: tiredness, nausea, vomiting, fever, rash, your skin or the white part of your eyes turns yellow (jaundice), or stomach pain/tenderness.
  • gallbladder problems. Gallbladder problems such as gallstones, or inflammation of the gallbladder, or inflammation of the pancreas from gallstones can occur with MASH and may occur if you take Rezdiffra. Call your healthcare provider right away if you develop any signs or symptoms of these conditions, including nausea, vomiting, fever, or pain in your stomach area (abdomen) that is severe and will not go away. The pain may be felt going from your abdomen to your back and the pain may happen with or without vomiting.

The most common side effects of Rezdiffra include diarrhea, nausea, itching, stomach pain, vomiting, dizziness, and constipation.

These are not all the possible side effects of Rezdiffra. For more information, ask your healthcare provider or pharmacist.

Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088 or www.fda.gov/medwatch. You may also report side effects to Madrigal Pharmaceuticals, Inc. at 1-800-905-0324.
